Statement on Corona virus - March 12, 2020
Thanks for reaching out and sharing your concerns.
We are actively monitoring the situation to keep you informed and our community and visitors healthy. Daily, we are working directly with our cruise partners, officials from the State of Alaska and reviewing the advisories from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. As you’re aware, this is a very fluid situation and is changing quickly. As of today, March 11, there are no diagnosed cases of coronavirus in Alaska.
Today’s announcement from Princess Cruises and yesterday’s news of Viking Cruises postponing all cruise until May are not affecting Icy Strait Point’s season thus far. We are poised for a record-setting 2020 season. Construction of the gondola system is moving forward on schedule. Our prep teams are making progress daily. We’ve also seen no slowdown of our tour sales.
Icy Strait Point is committed to a successful and healthy season and will be putting CDC-approved health protocols in place. Please let us know if you have additional questions. We will continue to update and provide meaningful information if the situation changes.
