ATV Expedition and World’s Largest ZipRider Combination Tour
After returning from your ATV exploration of Chichagof Island’s wild lands, embark on a scenic ascent of Hoonah Mountain. Take in the majestic views of Hoonah, Port Frederick, and Icy Strait on your way to the launching point for the ZipRider. Wildlife is frequently seen on the drive to the top and on clear days, the towering peaks of Glacier Bay National Park may be seen in the distance. From the top of the mountain, it’s just a short walk (400 meters) through a pristine stand of old-growth rainforest to the ZipRider tower.
Sitting 1330’ above Icy Strait Point, you will descend just over a mile and travel at speeds in excess of 60 mph while soaring 300' above the tree-tops below. Up to six guests can descend at once, making this a great group activity. Seated in a special harness, you will securely and comfortably race to the bottom. The views are second-to-none!
